Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique assures foolproof security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haram amid efforts to prevent illegal sacrificial skin collection.
Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, emphasized the need for robust security measures across the province during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haram celebrations. Speaking at a meeting of the Provincial Intelligence Committee held at the Home Department, he highlighted that illegal organizations would not be permitted to collect sacrificial skins.
Rafique comprehensive security arrangements were being finalized for both festivals, ensuring public safety and order. He also directed the prompt disposal of applications related to the collection of sacrificial hides, emphasizing strict monitoring to prevent unauthorized activities.
During the meeting, Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi briefed participants on the latest law and order situation across Punjab. Representatives from various law enforcement agencies including the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, and other security forces were present. Commissioners and Regional Police Officers joined through video link.
Rafique expressed satisfaction with the current law and order situation in the province and reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and harmony during the holy months of Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haram. He highlighted the crucial role played by religious scholars and peace committees in ensuring communal amity and stability.
Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Home Secretary, underscored that the Punjab government was making comprehensive security arrangements for both festivals. He assured that strict action would be taken against any elements attempting to disrupt peace and law and order. Additional Secretary Internal Security Maham Asif and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
The minister also reviewed security preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram, stressing the importance of maintaining a calm environment during this significant religious period.
