Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU) Karak held its first convocation awarding degrees to 253 graduates and gold medals to 75 high achievers. Peshawar, May 15.
Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU) Karak recently held its inaugural convocation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institution's academic journey. The event was attended by notable guests including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi as chief guest. Speaking at the occasion, Meena Khan Afridi emphasized that youth are the country’s most valuable asset and highlighted the provincial government's efforts to strengthen higher education and research opportunities.
The convocation ceremony was also graced by Members of the Provincial Assembly Khurshid Khattak and Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal. Additionally, faculty members, parents, and dignitaries from various sectors were present at the event. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalili presided over the proceedings.
According to university officials, degrees were awarded across a range of programs including BS, BA, BSc, B.Ed, MS, MPhil, and Master’s disciplines. The ceremony underscored KKKU's rapid academic progress and its aspirations to become one of Pakistan's leading higher education institutions.
During his address, the vice chancellor highlighted that the university had achieved significant milestones in a short span of time. He also announced plans for a paid internship program for fresh graduates, which he stated would be supported by an increased budget allocation for higher education in the upcoming provincial budget.
Furthermore, several development projects were inaugurated during the convocation ceremony. These included the energization of an 11KV feeder, solarization of the administration block, and the establishment of a neurofeedback clinic - described as the first of its kind in any public sector university in Pakistan.
The event concluded with graduates making pledges to contribute their skills towards national development and progress. The ceremony served not only as a celebration but also as an affirmation of KKKU's commitment to academic excellence and community service.
