High Commission and Consulate General in Sydney's Irfan Shaukat underscored the growing trend of remittances from Australia, indicating they are expected to cross US$1 billion this year. The High Commissioner organized a webinar on May 15th, emphasizing the significant role that Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) play in strengthening financial connectivity between Pakistan and Australia.
Shaukat expressed appreciation for the important contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in fostering economic and people-to-people linkages with their home country. The event brought together members of the Pakistani diaspora along with representatives from key financial institutions including State Bank of Pakistan, UBL, Pakistan Banks Association, Bank Alfalah, Bank of Punjab, Aussie Forex, and Australian Remittance and Currency Provider Association.
Speakers at the webinar highlighted opportunities to enhance cooperation in financial services for sending remittances through official channels. Participants welcomed the expanded scope of Roshan Digital Accounts, which now allow foreign nationals and companies, alongside non-resident Pakistanis, to open RDAs in Australian dollars.

The webinar served as a platform for discussing innovative ways to strengthen financial ties between Australia and Pakistan through digital means.
