Lahore General Hospital (LGH) treated a staggering number of 754,350 patients during the first four months of the current year, as part of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s ambitious "Health for All" initiative. According to a performance report presented by Medical Superintendent LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain to Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal on Thursday, the hospital saw an unprecedented rise in patient influx from January to April.

The report highlighted that 365,091 patients received free medicines, diagnostic tests, CT scans, and surgical treatments in the Emergency Department during this period. Additionally, 35,396 successful surgeries of various categories were conducted. Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal emphasized that under the guidance of Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Secretary Specialized Healthcare Azmat Mehmood Khan, the hospital administration was utilizing all available resources to enhance patient care.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated, "An effective monitoring and feedback system has been introduced at the hospital, which is yielding positive results." He reaffirmed that Lahore General Hospital would continue to provide standardized healthcare services across Punjab in line with the chief minister's vision of accessible health for all.

Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain administrative doctors had been assigned dedicated duties to maintain discipline, cleanliness, and improved patient care. During this four-month period, the hospital conducted around 800,000 laboratory tests, 106,410 X-rays, 43,728 ultrasounds, 24,090 CT scans, 6,639 MRI scans, 83 mammography procedures, 2,334 gastroscopies, over 30,000 ECGs, and 6,174 dialysis procedures.

The report also revealed that 1,423 patients from other districts were referred to Lahore General Hospital for specialized treatment facilities. Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain added, "Our dedicated administrative doctors are working tirelessly to ensure the highest standards of care in every department."
