Punjab government reduces traffic fines for motorcycle, car, and commercial vehicle owners, implements new rates, and updates One App for effective challan system.

This distinction in fines is aimed at discouraging reckless behavior on the roads while being more lenient towards less severe infractions.
Car drivers will also face fines for violating traffic rules, with a penalty of Rs 2,000 for violating lane lines and Rs 3,000 for breaking traffic signals. Commercial vehicles, on the other hand, will be subject to a fine of Rs 5,000 for driving without a license and violating signals. Additionally, vehicles emitting smoke will be fined, with motorcycles and rickshaws facing a penalty of Rs 2,000, cars facing a fine of Rs 3,000, and commercial vehicles facing a fine of Rs 5,000.
The Lahore Traffic Police Chief Traffic Officer, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, emphasized that the primary purpose of the challan system is to improve the well-being of citizens and ensure safe travel. He urged citizens to obey traffic rules, highlighting the importance of responsible driving habits in preventing accidents and reducing congestion on the roads.
