Punjab Cabinet Committee on Law and Order has directed enhanced security measures, including increased border surveillance and strict monitoring of suspicious individuals ahead of major events.

The Punjab Cabinet Committee on Law and Order has taken significant steps to bolster security across the province. During a recent meeting, the committee issued directives aimed at enhancing safety in various critical areas. The committee ordered heightened security protocols at provincial border checkpoints as part of its broader strategy to protect sensitive facilities and places of worship.

In light of recent incidents, including a bomb explosion in Quetta that claimed lives, the committee expressed concern over public safety and emphasized the need for rigorous security measures. As the province prepares for major events such as Eidul Azha and Muharram, the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order has reviewed current security arrangements to ensure they are robust.

Chairman Khawaja Salman Rafique of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order directed law enforcement agencies to increase surveillance of 'Fourth Schedulers' and suspicious persons. He also instructed that district intelligence committee meetings should be held specifically for Eid security preparations. The minister highlighted the importance of maintaining peace across Punjab, emphasizing that banned organizations would face strict measures.

Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin further emphasized the need for stringent controls over entry and exit routes in cattle markets and called for a zero-tolerance policy on the illegal use of loudspeakers. He also instructed all district administrations to display lists of banned organizations within their jurisdictions.

Additionally, Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar Khan stressed the mobilization of peace committees and the establishment of contacts with local religious leaders at tehsil level. This multi-faceted approach aims to create a comprehensive security network that addresses both immediate threats and long-term community safety concerns.

These measures reflect Punjab's commitment to ensuring public safety and stability, particularly as it prepares for significant events and maintains vigilance against potential security risks.
