US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest peace terms, branding them “totally unacceptable,” raising the prospect of renewed conflict in the Middle East after weeks of negotiations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that the war was not over until Iran removed its enriched uranium and dismantled its nuclear facilities. In a statement on X, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian maintained Tehran’s defiant stance, saying they would never surrender or retreat.

Trump provided no details on Iran's counterproposal but rejected it outright, stating he did not like it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” The US president is expected to press China’s President Xi Jinping on the issue when Trump visits Beijing this week. Netanyahu demanded that Iran’s uranium stockpile be removed and its nuclear sites dismantled before any peace could be reached.

Meanwhile, Iran laid out demands for Washington, proposing some of its highly enriched uranium be diluted and transferred to a third country. The US insisted such an agreement would not be acceptable. Fresh drone attacks in the Gulf this Sunday added to tensions, with multiple countries deploying their own forces to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Iran warned that any interference by Britain or France would meet “a decisive and immediate response.”
