ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has strongly protested the use of Afghan soil by terrorists in planning an attack on a police post in Bannu, resulting in 15 police casualties and injuries to four others.

The FO stated that investigations confirmed involvement of Afghanistan-based militants. A strong protest note was delivered to Afghanistan's chargé d'affaires, expressing serious concerns over the use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan.

Reports by UN and other international bodies highlight the presence and activities of terrorist groups within Afghanistan. Despite diplomatic efforts, effective action against these networks remains lacking, posing ongoing security challenges.

Pakistan reiterated its right to take decisive measures against those responsible for such attacks, emphasizing the need to protect national security and citizens' safety.

The FO's statement underscores Pakistan's stance on addressing cross-border terrorism through continued diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan.
