President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the Marka-e-Haq ceremony in Islamabad on May 10, 2026. The event marked the first anniversary of the military conflict with India.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared May 10 as Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq, praising the armed forces for their pivotal roles in the country's defence. He also hailed the services chiefs for their leadership during the conflict.
The prime minister said Pakistan's strong response to Indian aggression forced India to seek a ceasefire. He made the remarks during a ceremony at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.
The Marka-e-Haq conflict refers to the 19-day military conflict with India from April 22 to May 10, 2025. The prime minister observed a one-minute silence in honour of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country.
PM Shehbaz rejected India's allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident, saying Pakistan was subjected to baseless accusations. He stated that Pakistan had repeatedly warned the adversary against any adventurism and offered a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
