Foolio's mother trolls convicts after 'guilty as charged' verdicts in son's murder case
The rapper, whose real name was Charles Jones, was shot and killed while celebrating his birthday in Tampa, Florida nearly two years ago. Four men were convicted for the fatal shooting, with Sandrikas Mays reacting publicly on social media following Friday’s guilty verdicts. As reported by No Jumper on Instagram, Mays shared a photograph of one of the convicted men appearing emotional in court and referenced her son's rap moniker with bottles of Don Julio tequila.
The four convicted men - Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy - are now facing either the death penalty or life imprisonment under Florida law. A sentencing phase is expected to begin next week, where prosecutors and defense attorneys will present recommendations before a judge and jury determine the punishment.
A fifth defendant, Alicia Andrews, was previously found guilty on lesser manslaughter charges and is also awaiting sentencing. Prosecutors alleged that Andrews and her boyfriend, Isaiah Chance, tracked Foolio's movements and shared his location with the other suspects before the shooting took place. The case has garnered significant attention within the hip-hop community since Foolio’s death, particularly due to the rapper's long-standing feuds and diss tracks linked to rival groups.
Mays' comments mark her first major public response following the convictions, as supporters and family members continue to reflect on the impact of the case ahead of the sentencing hearings.
