"It feels incredible to win a third ICC Player of the Month award in such a short span of time," she said. "I hope to continue batting with the same confidence and consistency."

The South Africa captain further emphasized the satisfaction of achieving success across formats, particularly against reigning World Cup and T20 World Cup champions. Wolvaardt expressed her hope to carry this form into the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled from June 12 to July 5 in England and Wales. "What makes this award even more special is that these performances came against the reigning World Cup and T20 World Cup champions, which is something I truly cherish," she said.

Her consistent performances across formats were highlighted during two One Day Internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand where she accumulated 138 runs at an average of 69.00. In a five-match Test Match Series (T20I) series against India, Wolvaardt scored 330 runs with one century and three fifties. Her best performance in the month came during the third T20I match when she hit 115 off 53 deliveries to lead South Africa to a nine-wicket victory while chasing down a 192-run target.

Reflecting on her success, Wolvaardt thanked her team-mates for their constant support. "I'm grateful to my team-mates for their constant support," she said. "I hope to carry this form into the ICC Women's T20 World Cup next month in England and Wales."

The ICC Women's Player of the Month award recognizes a player who has demonstrated exceptional performance across formats, showcasing leadership, consistency, and skill. Wolvaardt's achievement underscores her importance as a key figure in South Africa's women's cricket team.
