Karachi to host One Run International half-marathon on May 23, expecting over 1,500 participants from Pakistan and abroad, promoting global unity and health.

The event, scheduled to take place on May 23, is expected to attract over 1,500 participants, making it one of the city's largest running events of the year. The half-marathon will feature four categories, including 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and the full 21.1 km half-marathon, which will take place along the scenic Abdul Sattar Edhi Road (Seaview). The race will start and finish at Emaar Ocean Front in DHA Phase 8, providing a platform for families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts to embrace an active lifestyle and achieve personal milestones within a global running community. The initiative aims to promote fitness and holistic health while encouraging greater public participation in physical activity across the country.

On the same day, over 245,000 runners worldwide are expected to participate in the event, representing countries such as Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India, the UAE, Qatar, Venezuela, Serbia, Tanzania, Malaysia, and Thailand. This will turn the occasion into a truly global celebration of running, showcasing the city's active lifestyle and participation in international events. According to Shoaib Nizami, the event organiser in Karachi, the city's running culture is growing rapidly, with more people from all walks of life taking part every year.
