Pakistan's Fatima Sana has broken the fastest half-century record in Women's T20Is history, scoring a crucial 15-ball fifty against Zimbabwe.

Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana etched her name in cricketing history on Friday as she smashed the fastest half-century in the history of Women's T20Is. The 24-year-old all-rounder achieved this milestone during the third home T20I match against Zimbabwe, which was played at the National Bank Stadium.

Fatima walked out to bat at number six with the scoreboard showing a score of 152/4. She launched a belligerent attack on the Zimbabwean bowlers as she hit eight fours and two sixes in just 15 deliveries. As a result, Sana broke the all-time record for scoring the fastest half-century in Women's T20Is, surpassing New Zealand's Sophie Devine, Australia's Phoebe Litchfield, and India's Richa Ghosh, who were tied at the summit with respective records of 18-ball fifties.

The previous record was held by former Pakistan captain Nida Dar, who made a 20-ball half-century against South Africa in 2019. Sana's record-breaking performance came as part of a strong team effort that propelled Pakistan to a massive total of 223/4 in their 20 overs against Zimbabwe.

This score was the second-highest by Pakistan in T20Is, only behind their highest-ever tally of 237/5 against Zimbabwe in the series opener. The match saw emerging all-rounder Saira Jabeen contribute with an anchoring fifty, further solidifying Pakistan's offensive lineup.

Fatima's record-breaking half-century and Saira's impressive innings helped Pakistan secure a significant lead in their upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. This victory marks a strong start for the team as they look to continue their momentum in international cricket competitions.
