Emerging South Africa all-rounder Dian Forrester, who represented RawalPindiz in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, has been picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for IPL 2026 after being injured.
Chennai Super Kings have signed emerging South Africa all-rounder Dian Forrester as a replacement for Jamie Overton, who is ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 tournament due to a right thigh injury. The move comes after Forrester had an impressive stint with RawalPindiz in the Pakistan Super League 11.
Forrester, who was acquired by RawalPindiz for Rs6 million at the historic players auction earlier this year, played six matches and showcased his all-round abilities. He accumulated 132 runs at a remarkable average of 44 with a strike rate of 171.42 during his time in the PSL. Additionally, Forrester managed to take two wickets in his maiden PSL stint.
Following his successful performance in the PSL, Forrester has now landed a lucrative deal with CSK, earning INR 7.5 million for his services. The all-rounder's versatility and recent form make him an ideal replacement for Jamie Overton, who had been performing well until he was sidelined due to injury.
The IPL statement confirmed that Dian Forrester will join Chennai Super Kings for INR 75 lakh as a replacement for Overton. This move highlights the strategic approach of CSK in bolstering their squad with experienced players ahead of the crucial tournament.
For those unfamiliar, Forrester also represented Joburg Super Kings during this year's South Africa's SA20 competition, playing 11 matches and contributing significantly to his team's performance with a total of 175 runs at an average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 165.09.
With Forrester now onboard, CSK aims to maintain their competitive edge in the IPL 2026 tournament, where they are set to compete against other top teams from India and abroad.
