28 national cricketers begin a week-long white-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, preparing for an upcoming ODI series against Australia.
The week-long white-ball training camp, comprising 28 national cricketers, commenced on Friday at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. According to details provided, the participating players engaged in one-on-one sessions with NCA coaches and underwent various skills and fitness-oriented tests.
Furthermore, the PCB medical staff reviewed the players' fitness and physical parameters. This recently initiated camp is designed to prepare Pakistan’s squad for a three-match ODI series against Australia scheduled from May 30 to June 4. The first match of the series will kick off at 4:30 PM local time with the toss set for 4 PM.
The PCB the NCA coaching staff would collaborate with the Pakistan men's white-ball team management to train and monitor the players during the camp. This upcoming bilateral ODI series marks Australia’s first tour of Pakistan in the 50-over format since March and April 2022, when the Men in Green won a 2-1 series against Pakistan.
Earlier this year, Australia visited for a three-match T20I series in January and February, where they secured a 3-0 sweep at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. The NCA coaching staff will work alongside the team management to ensure the players are well-prepared for the upcoming ODI series.
The camp includes players such as Aamir Jamal, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, and Fakhar Zaman among others. Additional participants include Pakistan U19 fast bowlers Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza.
