The Sindh cabinet has approved significant funding for water and drainage schemes and major infrastructure projects in Karachi, totaling over Rs 20 billion.

The Sindh cabinet recently convened a meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to address various developmental needs across the province. During this session, several key initiatives were green-lighted, including substantial allocations for water and drainage schemes as well as major infrastructure projects in Karachi.

A significant portion of the approved budget, Rs 8.825 billion, will be allocated specifically towards enhancing water supply and drainage systems throughout Sindh. This funding aims to improve the quality of life for residents by addressing critical issues such as water scarcity and poor sanitation. The chief minister emphasized that these projects are crucial for ensuring sustainable development in rural areas.

In addition to the water and drainage schemes, the cabinet also approved a package worth Rs 11.198 billion for major infrastructure projects in Karachi. These initiatives include road construction, public transportation improvements, and other urban development works aimed at boosting the city's economic growth and enhancing its overall infrastructure.

The approval of these funds underscores the government’s commitment to addressing both rural and urban challenges simultaneously. By investing in critical sectors like water supply and drainage systems, as well as large-scale infrastructure projects, Sindh is taking significant steps towards achieving sustainable development goals.

These measures are expected to have a positive impact on the province's economy and improve the quality of life for its residents. The chief minister highlighted that these initiatives will not only create jobs but also contribute to long-term stability and growth in the region.
