Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan dismisses reports of PTI MPAs forming a group against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, stating the claims are false and baseless.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Minister Shafi Jan has dismissed reports suggesting that around 50 PTI Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) have formed a bloc to challenge Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. In response to media reports, Jan these claims are "fabricated and baseless," adding that all members remain united under CM Afridi's leadership.

The minister’s statement came after reports indicated potential rifts among PTI lawmakers over dissatisfaction with the chief minister's performance, which could affect the upcoming provincial budget. To address this, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi reportedly sought support from JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman. However, Jan clarified that such discussions centered on issues like the death of Maulana Muhammad Idrees and law and order, rather than internal party divisions.

In a statement posted on X, Jan emphasized that CM Afridi enjoys the confidence of PTI founder Imran Khan, whose decisions within the party are final. He also accused "organised and baseless propaganda" of targeting the chief minister since his assumption of office. Despite these challenges, Jan highlighted KP's commitment to promoting true democratic values and regular meetings on development projects for public welfare.

Afridi’s meeting with JUI-F leader Rehman was not about creating divisions but rather addressing broader political and social issues. Jan urged those spreading "fake news" to wait until the provincial budget is presented, asserting that it would pass smoothly and bring about development and prosperity despite limited resources. He further noted significant achievements in development, law and order, and public welfare under CM Afridi's leadership.

In conclusion, while there may be ongoing challenges within political parties, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa remains committed to democratic values and development initiatives for the betterment of its citizens.
