The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has warned healthcare service providers and other stakeholders about fraudsters impersonating PHC officials to illegally collect money.
The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has issued a warning to healthcare service providers and other stakeholders, advising them against fraudsters who are impersonating PHC officials to illegally collect money in the name of the Commission. According to a statement released by the PHC on Friday, these scammers are approaching individuals with false promises to help avoid regulatory and legal actions taken by the commission.
The fraudsters reportedly use fake identities and forged documents to carry out their schemes, often obtaining cash payments or money transfers into personal accounts. The PHC has advised stakeholders to immediately contact local law enforcement if they suspect any such incidents.
In a separate statement, the Commission clarified that all official payments are accepted only through designated banking channels and accounts titled "Punjab Healthcare Commission" against digitally generated challans issued by the PHC. This ensures transparency and accountability in financial transactions related to the commission's activities.
The PHC also expressed concern over instances where stakeholders who have fallen victim to these scams blame the commission on social media platforms. The organization has made it clear that they bear no responsibility for unauthorized payments made at the payer’s own risk.
Additionally, the Commission measures are being taken against individuals involved in damaging the institution's reputation and defrauding stakeholders through such impersonation schemes.
