Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warns of rising temperatures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to heatwave alert issued for Eid holidays.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a heatwave alert across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the upcoming Eid holidays, warning residents of a significant rise in temperatures from May 25 to May 31. This precautionary measure comes as authorities aim to mitigate potential health risks associated with extreme heat conditions.
According to PDMA officials, the alert is part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and preparedness for the summer months. The authority has advised citizens to take necessary precautions such as staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and ensuring adequate rest during hot spells.
Health experts have also urged people to stay indoors during peak heat hours and consume plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. PDMA recommends that schools and workplaces implement flexible working schedules to allow for breaks from the intense sun.
The heatwave alert follows a period of unusually high temperatures observed in recent days, which has already led to several cases of heat-related illnesses across the province. Authorities are closely monitoring weather conditions and will continue to update the public with any necessary advisories or changes in response to the current situation.
Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest updates through local media channels and PDMA announcements during this critical period. The aim is to collectively safeguard citizens' health and well-being as they celebrate Eid amid these challenging climatic conditions.
