IRSA releases 159,200 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 162,800 cusecs. Tarbela Dam's water level is at 1452.49 feet.
Indus River System Authority (IRSA) released a total of 159,200 cusecs of water from various rim stations on Friday with an inflow rate of 162,800 cusecs. According to IRSA's data, the water level at Tarbela Dam stands at 1452.49 feet, which is 52.49 feet above the dead level of 1402.00 feet.
Water inflow and outflow in the dam were recorded as 59,600 cusecs and 70,000 cusecs respectively. The water levels at other major dams also saw significant changes. At Mangla Dam on the Jhelum River, the water level was measured at 1163.60 feet, which is 113.60 feet above its dead level of 1,050 feet. Inflow and outflow in this dam were recorded as 40,000 cusecs and 26,000 cusecs respectively.
The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, and Sukkur was noted to be 121,900, 74,000, 59,200, and 15,100 cusecs, respectively. Additionally, from River Kabul, a total of 38,400 cusecs were released at Nowshera, while 10,200 cusecs were released from the Chenab River at Marala.
These water releases are part of IRSA's ongoing efforts to manage and distribute water resources efficiently across Pakistan. The authority ensures that these operations align with the country's agricultural needs, hydropower generation requirements, and environmental considerations.
