The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan held the Pakistan Higher Education Expo in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative. This event follows successful exhibitions in Dhaka and Barishal aimed at fostering academic cooperation and providing scholarships to Bangladeshi students. As many as 20 prestigious Pakistani universities are participating in this series of expos.

A detailed orientation session was hosted by HEC, conducted at the University of Rajshahi. The session attracted a large number of students, parents, and members of the public who visited the stalls set up for information dissemination. Representatives from both HEC and the participating universities welcomed visitors and guided them on the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and its various components.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi, Prof. Mohammad Main Uddin, expressed his appreciation for the initiative to strengthen academic collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He encouraged students to apply for scholarships offered by Pakistani universities and highlighted the importance of education, academic exchange, and research collaboration in promoting mutual understanding between the two countries.

Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Bangladesh, Muhammad Wasif, also addressed the orientation session. He informed participants about the launch of the second phase of scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students and invited them to pursue higher education in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Director General (Scholarship) HEC, Mrs. Aayesha Ikram, encouraged Bangladeshi students to take advantage of these scholarship opportunities and apply for admission in diverse academic disciplines.

Project Director Allama Iqbal Scholarships Programme, Jehanzeb Khan, briefed participants about the scholarship opportunities, admission procedures, and academic facilities available for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan. Under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, HEC Pakistan is offering 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships for Bangladeshi students. The first batch of 74 students has already started studies in Pakistan across various disciplines, marking a significant milestone in bilateral educational cooperation.

The expo series not only provides academic and financial support but also serves as a platform to enhance cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries. With these initiatives, HEC Pakistan aims to strengthen ties and promote sustainable development through education.
