Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry reassures nation against terrorism, highlighting successful operations and ongoing challenges.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday emphasized that elements hatching conspiracies against Pakistan would never succeed in their nefarious designs. Responding to a point raised by opposition members in the Senate, he stated that the entire nation stood united against the menace of terrorism. He highlighted that the Pakistan Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies were carrying out intelligence-based operations to eliminate terrorists across the country.
Fazal Chaudhry noted that incidents of terrorism had significantly declined after strikes on terrorist hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. However, he pointed out that terrorist elements were now targeting soft targets such as police personnel and civilians. The minister underscored that the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and police were courageously countering the cowardly enemy.
He emphasized that terrorism was not limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces; tragic incidents had also occurred in Islamabad and other parts of the country. Referring to a recent suicide attack at an Imam Bargah in Tarlai, Islamabad, he mentioned that more than 40 innocent people had lost their lives.
Fazal Chaudhry concluded by reiterating the nation's unity against terrorism and the ongoing efforts to combat it effectively.
