Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in Kalat launches online education classes and distributes laptops under Prime Minister's Youth Laptop Scheme.

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Regional Office in Kalat has initiated a significant educational initiative by introducing online education classes through its distance learning system. As part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, laptops were distributed among students from nine districts of Balochistan, enhancing their access to modern digital tools and resources.

A formal ceremony was held at the AIOU Regional Office in Kalat, where Additional Deputy Commissioner Shah Nawaz Baloch and Deputy Regional Director Haml Baloch handed over laptops to students. The event underscored a commitment to bridging the gap between traditional education methods and contemporary technological advancements.

In his remarks, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shah Nawaz Baloch highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, "Today’s era belongs to knowledge, research, and information technology. Nations that equip their youth with modern sciences and technology achieve progress and prosperity." He emphasized that the scheme aims not only to provide educational access but also to empower students by fostering independence, confidence, and digital skills.

Deputy Regional Director Haml Baloch echoed these sentiments, noting that 26 students from nine districts of Balochistan received laptops during the ceremony. They stressed that Balochistan’s youth are highly talented and with proper opportunities and resources, they can excel in various fields. The initiative reflects the vision of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, who prioritize youth welfare, education, and development.

The officials encouraged students to use the laptops for constructive educational purposes, focusing on learning and research rather than social media activities. They emphasized that this program will enhance digital literacy, strengthen academic research, and prepare Balochistan’s youth to face the challenges of the modern world effectively.
