The Zewar-e-Taleem (ZTP) programme in Punjab has reported a significant 18% increase in student enrollment, according to recent evaluation findings presented by the AwazCDS-Pakistan during an orientation session with the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) Punjab. This development comes amidst calls for the restoration of the program.

The orientation session took place at Four Points by Sheraton Lahore and was attended by representatives from the WPC-Punjab, who were briefed on the evaluation results of the ZTP programme. The findings highlighted a notable rise in enrollment rates since its inception, indicating positive progress towards improving girls' secondary education in Punjab.

AwazCDS-Pakistan, an organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for women and marginalized communities, emphasized the importance of continuing support for the Zewar-e-Taleem Programme. They called for its restoration as a critical component in addressing gender disparities in education within the province.

The evaluation results underscored various strategies employed by the programme, including community engagement initiatives, teacher training workshops, and the provision of learning materials to enhance educational outcomes among girls. These efforts have contributed significantly to the observed enrollment increase.

Discussion at the session also focused on potential areas for improvement and future directions for the Zewar-e-Taleem Programme. Participants from the WPC-Punjab expressed their commitment to working closely with AwazCDS-Pakistan to ensure sustained progress in achieving better educational outcomes for girls in Punjab.

The restoration of the ZTP programme is seen as a vital step towards ensuring that all children, particularly girls, have access to quality education and can pursue their aspirations without barriers. The program's success highlights the potential impact of targeted interventions aimed at improving gender equality in the realm of education.
