Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts hot weather with isolated rainstorms for Wednesday across most parts of the country.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast warning that severe heat will persist in Sindh and southern Balochistan on Wednesday. The Met Office also predicts that while some areas may experience isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms, hot and dry weather is expected for the majority of the country.
According to PMD's latest update, most districts within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are predicted to remain under hot and dry conditions; however, there could be isolated instances of rain-wind/thunderstorms in certain regions such as Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Kohistan, Buner, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Parachinar, and Abbottabad. In Punjab, the forecast indicates mainly hot and dry weather with occasional rain-windstorm or duststorm-thunderstorm events at isolated locations like Murree and Galiyat.
In Sindh, most districts are expected to experience hot and dry conditions, while the upper regions of the province may see very high temperatures. Balochistan is also anticipated to remain hot and dry, although southern areas might face severe heat. Meanwhile, cloudy weather with chances of rain-windstorms or thunderstorms has been forecasted for isolated places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Over the past 24 hours, there were instances of rain-windstorms and thunderstorms at isolated locations within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. However, hot and dry weather prevailed across other parts of the country. Southern districts have been under intense heat conditions.
The PMD reported that on Tuesday, Turbat recorded the highest temperature at 47 degrees Celsius, followed by Lasbela with a maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius. Sibi, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Gwadar also registered temperatures around 45 degrees Celsius. For Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the forecast suggests that temperatures will range between 18°C to 33°C during the day.
Overall, the PMD's warning highlights that residents of Sindh and southern Balochistan should be prepared for severe heat conditions on Wednesday, while other regions may experience varying degrees of hot weather.
