Senior Baloch politician Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani strongly condemns government decisions to merge Mastung with Quetta and incorporate Kachhi into Sibi, citing concerns over historical identity and law and order.

Senior Baloch politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani has vehemently condemned the government’s decision to merge Mastung district with Quetta and integrate Kachhi district into Sibi. Speaking at a press conference held at Sarawan House in Quetta, Raisani emphasized that these moves are an attempt to erase the historical identity of his region.

Raisani stressed that political workers and local residents would unite to resist such changes through national solidarity, constitutional, legal, and democratic struggles. He was accompanied by other prominent figures including Nawabzada Mir Rais Raisani, Haji Muhammad Anwar Shahwani, Haji Aziz Sarpara, and Haji Ishaq Lahri.

The former senator also expressed grief over a recent bomb blast at Chaman Phatak in Quetta, attributing the deteriorating law and order situation to flawed policies and their local facilitators. He highlighted that earlier, roads were unsafe; now even people’s safety is compromised within cities.

Raisani criticized the provincial government for creating new divisions and districts with the apparent aim of dismantling the historical status of various regions. He pointed out that Mastung had historically served as the headquarters of Sarawan, while Kachhi maintained its own distinct historical identity. These actions, according to Raisani, are not only undermining the cultural heritage but also exacerbating security concerns in Balochistan.

In conclusion, Raisani’s strong stance underscores the deep-rooted concerns among political leaders and the general populace regarding the preservation of historical identities and the maintenance of law and order in the region.
