Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visits martyr Muhammad Liaqat Ali's residence, offering condolences and announcing government support.
Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan of Punjab paid tribute to the martyred citizen, Muhammad Liaqat Ali, during a visit to his residence in Mankor village, Tehsil Jand of Attock. The governor arrived at the scene on Friday, May 15, following Liaqat Ali had sacrificed himself while thwarting a suicide attack at Khushhal Garh Check Post.
During the visit, Haider Khan offered Fateha for the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. Accompanying him were local dignitaries including Malik Amanat Khan Rawal, Syed Atif Shah Gilani, Malik Asghar, Asif Hayat, and Sardar Muhammad Ali.
Speaking to the family, the governor announced that the provincial government would cover all educational expenses for Liaqat Ali's son until he completes his studies. He also assured efforts to regularize the employment of the martyr’s brother, who has been working on a daily wage basis for the past 15 years.
Residents of the area have called for renaming Khushhal Garh Check Post after Muhammad Liaqat Ali Shaheed in recognition of his sacrifice. The governor agreed and he would recommend naming it "Liaqat Shaheed Check Post Mankor." He praised Liaqat Ali's courage, emphasizing how his actions saved countless lives and thwarted terrorist designs.
Haider Khan further highlighted that Muhammad Liaqat Ali had brought honor to Attock. He the process for awarding him the Tamgha-e-Shujaat, Pakistan’s highest gallantry award, was initiated promptly, reflecting the nation's respect for martyrs and their families.
