The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) assisted police in apprehending a suspect involved in a recent theft at Moon Market area, Lahore. According to a PSCA spokesperson, the incident was swiftly traced through Safe City cameras after which Virtual Patrolling Officers tracked the suspect's movement and shared real-time information with law enforcement authorities, enabling his arrest.
Footage from the Safe City cameras clearly showed the suspect snatching valuables, including a purse and mobile phone, from a woman in Moon Market. Acting on this timely alert, police conducted an operation and successfully apprehended the accused. The spokesperson upon searching the suspect, items such as a mobile phone, cash, bank cards, and other personal belongings were recovered.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was also wanted in multiple cases for similar offenses. In light of these findings, the PSCA spokesperson urged citizens to report any emergencies on Helpline 15 for prompt action.
