Kyrgyz Deputy Head of Mission/Consul Melis Moldaliev and Honorary Consul Kashif Younis Mehr called for enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan during their visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). Speaking at a meeting with business community leaders, they emphasized the need to leverage mutual investment opportunities. Both countries can collaborate on joint projects in renewable energy, electricity, and other sectors.
Moldaliev highlighted that Pakistani companies have strong opportunities for investment in Kyrgyzstan's mining, agriculture, construction, and textiles industries. He informed that Kyrgyzstan has established a Trade House in Lahore and plans to open similar centers in other cities. Moldaliev urged the Pakistani business community to fully benefit from trade agreements to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
In his welcome address, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol emphasized that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan enjoy excellent diplomatic relations but noted that the volume of trade is very low. He suggested enhancing trade in pharmaceuticals, leather, sports goods, food products, and information technology, as well as promoting tourism between the two countries. Saigol pointed out that Kyrgyzstan can benefit from Pakistan's strategic geographical location.
He emphasized that exchange of trade delegations would further strengthen economic and commercial ties, fostering a strong economic partnership. Additionally, Saigol highlighted Pakistan’s role in recent global peace efforts, which has underscored its importance as a mediator between Iran and the United States.
The LCCI President also stressed that Pakistan played a responsible and positive role during the Iran-US tensions, thereby reinforcing its position as a key player in promoting global stability.
