Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry reiterates the government's stance against terrorism, addressing incidents involving Coast Guard and PTI founder health.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emphasized that the government will not tolerate any threats to its sovereignty, stating that strict action would be taken against those supporting or facilitating terrorist activities. In a statement during a point of order in the National Assembly on Friday, he reaffirmed the government's commitment to combating militancy and maintaining peace.
Dr. Fazal Chaudhry clarified that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is an internationally designated terrorist organization and will be dealt with firmly. He also corrected the record regarding recent incidents involving the Coast Guard reported in the media, explaining that a week ago, Coast Guard personnel were martyred during a firing incident. Despite the loss of life, he highlighted that the forces exercised restraint and patience.
Addressing concerns raised by lawmakers, Dr. Fazal Chaudhry assured that he would personally coordinate with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to arrange a formal meeting with lawmakers from the province. He if the Chief Minister is in Islamabad, he will accompany the delegation for facilitating dialogue. Referring to discussions about a possible meeting with the PTI founder, Dr. Fazal Chaudhry emphasized that the matter should not be viewed purely as a political issue but governed by legal and administrative procedures.
On the PTI founder's health, particularly reported eye-related issues, he it remains the government's responsibility to ensure all necessary medical care for individuals in custody, adding that this responsibility has been fulfilled in the past and will continue. Responding to concerns about emergency hospital transfers, Dr. Fazal Chaudhry affirmed that in any medical emergency, standard procedure is to shift the patient immediately to a hospital regardless of time or circumstances, rejecting claims of delay and asserting that timely medical assistance was provided whenever required.
He further while the PTI founder remains in custody, the jail administration is responsible for providing healthcare, food, and other basic facilities. Dr. Fazal Chaudhry maintained that all such obligations are being properly fulfilled without negligence.
