Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui expresses concern over alleged Cambridge exam paper leak, emphasizing need for strengthened security measures.
Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, expressed deep concern on Tuesday regarding the alleged leakage of Cambridge examination papers. He stated that such incidents cause severe mental stress, anxiety, and uncertainty for thousands of students and their parents, particularly those who prepare diligently for their exams with hard work and dedication. "This is an extremely serious matter," Dr Siddiqui emphasized, noting that similar incidents were reported last year.
Dr Siddiqui highlighted the need for Cambridge to further strengthen its examination system, security protocols, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure they remain effective and tamper-proof. He stressed the importance of restoring and maintaining students' trust and confidence in the exam process. Taking immediate notice of the matter, Dr Siddiqui directed the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to establish immediate contact with Cambridge authorities for a thorough investigation into the incident.
The Federal Minister reiterated that the Government of Pakistan will not compromise on the educational future of students or the transparency and integrity of the examination system. He stressed that all relevant institutions must fulfill their responsibilities with seriousness and accountability, ensuring the protection of merit and trust in the exam process.
Dr Siddiqui's statement comes amid ongoing efforts to address concerns about the security of examinations across Pakistan. The minister's actions underscore the government's commitment to safeguarding the integrity of educational assessments for students.
