West Indies and Nepal to clash in Historic T20 Series in Sharjah
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has formally revealed the schedule for a ground-breaking three-match T20 International series against Nepal. This series signifies the first-ever bilateral contest between these two nations.
This important event highlights CWI’s continuous dedication to the worldwide expansion of cricket and the cultivation of robust bonds with emerging cricketing countries.
The matches will be held on September 27, 28, and 30, 2025, at the renowned Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is hosting the series, which is timed to coincide with Nepal’s preparations for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier later this year.
This tour offers Nepal a crucial chance to acquire valuable international experience as they approach their qualification campaign. It also supports the West Indies’ goal of promoting cricket’s development in less developed areas.
CWI CEO Chris Dehring emphasized the importance of the occasion and the West Indies’ commitment to global cricket development, stating:
“This series is more than just a collection of international matches; it is a celebration of the game’s growing global presence and evidence of what cricket embodies: pride, purpose, and the ability of unity. As a Full Member nation, we believe it is our responsibility to help cricket grow beyond our borders,” Dehring stated.
“Supporting Nepal at this critical juncture in their cricketing journey not only advances the sport at the grassroots and international levels, but it also reminds us of the great pride and honor associated with representing our country and wearing our national colors. We are honored to support Nepal at this point in their history and anticipate thrilling and competitive cricket in Sharjah,” he added.
The West Indies are anticipated to field a formidable team, giving Nepal with important experience and preparation ahead of their World Cup qualifiers. The series also gives fans the chance to watch international cricket in a lively, neutral environment.
CWI has expressed gratitude to the Cricket Association of Nepal and the Emirates Cricket Board for their help and collaboration in organizing this historic series.
