Prime Minister Sharif Meets UAE President, Discusses Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday, focusing on enhancing collaboration across various sectors, particularly economic, investment, and developmental areas.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz during his formal visit to the UAE, as reported by the Emirati news agency WAM.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, saw both leaders exchanging Eid ul Adha greetings and expressing hopes for continued prosperity for their nations, as well as sustained peace and stability in the Muslim world and beyond.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening ties and broadening their alliance to achieve shared objectives and national development, with the goal of increased prosperity for their people.

Sheikh Mohamed and Prime Minister Shehbaz also addressed several regional and global matters of joint interest, exchanging perspectives on current events.

They emphasized the significance of supporting global initiatives aimed at fostering stability and reinforcing peace at both regional and global levels.

The Prime Minister lauded the UAE President’s endeavors in promoting peace, security, and stability on both regional and international fronts.

He further acknowledged the crucial role of UAE diplomacy in encouraging dialogue and identifying common ground for resolving conflicts and crises through diplomatic means worldwide.

The Prime Minister voiced his gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing assistance to Pakistan, as well as its impactful development projects in the country.

The meeting saw the attendance of Abu Dhabi Deputy Ruler and National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Advisor to the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, and Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei.

The Prime Minister’s accompanying delegation, comprising ministers and senior officials, also participated in the discussions.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Abu Dhabi and was received at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Tahnoon, accompanied by other high-ranking officials.

During his UAE visit, PM Shehbaz also commented on Pakistan’s involvement in London Tech Week 2025, which includes all global stakeholders.

He stated that Pakistan’s commitment to digital transformation, global tech engagement, and youth empowerment remains steadfast as the country progresses toward a knowledge economy.

The Prime Minister also congratulated those involved for Pakistan’s impactful presence at London Tech Week 2025.

“This places Pakistan as a forward-thinking nation that is leveraging technology, innovation, and the potential of its youth to connect with the world.

Our presence at such a distinguished event underscores our expanding digital footprint and global ambitions,” he added.

He praised the Ministry of IT, PSEB, TDAP, and tech entrepreneurs for showcasing Pakistan with vision and determination, commenting, “Pakistan’s tech future is promising! INSHA ALLAH.”
