Former US President Appreciates Praise from Pakistani Official

Former US President Donald Trump stated that he regarded the commendation given to him by Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir as an “honor”.

Addressing a group of US military officers on Tuesday, Trump noted that the Pakistani Field Marshal had applauded his efforts in preventing a potential conflict between Pakistan and India, which he suggested averted a significant loss of life.

“He indicated that the repercussions of the war would have been considerably more severe,” Trump remarked. The former US president added that Field Marshal Munir’s comments resonated positively with him. “I genuinely appreciated his sentiment,” Trump said.

Trump further mentioned that Field Marshal Munir articulated these opinions in the company of other individuals, including a pair of generals, thereby reinforcing the importance of his message.

These remarks followed multiple encounters with the senior military officer.

Previously, Trump and Field Marshal Munir convened for a luncheon at the White House Cabinet Room, where the field marshal acknowledged Trump’s statesmanship and capabilities in understanding and managing the various challenges confronting the international community.

A subsequent meeting occurred earlier this month, involving Trump, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Munir, at the White House.

The Prime Minister conveyed his “profound respect” for former United States President Trump, describing him as a “man of peace” committed to genuine initiatives aimed at resolving global disputes.

During a cordial dialogue with President Trump at the Oval Office, the prime minister emphasized that the US leader’s resolute and courageous actions were instrumental in achieving a ceasefire between Pakistan and India. This, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, averted a potential “major disaster” in South Asia.
