Toyota’s Overseas Sales Reach Record High in March
Toyota Motor announced on Thursday that its international sales for March achieved a new monthly record, boosted by a surge in North American purchases in anticipation of US import tariffs that took effect in early April.
The Japanese automaker reported sales of 814,105 vehicles outside of Japan in March, representing a 6.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The company experienced a 6.8% rise in sales within North America, driven by robust demand and the possible impact of impending tariffs.
Toyota’s total vehicle sales for 2024 reached 10.8 million, maintaining its position as the world’s leading automaker.
Toyota also indicated a 9.1% year-over-year increase in global production for March, marking the third consecutive month of growth, with a total output of 880,476 vehicles.
The reported figures include both production and sales for its Lexus luxury brand.
