Yousaf Rizvi, the president of Friends of Thailand Pakistan and vice chairman of the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan, has formally reassured the Pakistani public and international community that Thailand remains open, stable, and safe for tourists and business visitors, despite recent reports of rising tensions along its border with Cambodia. In a widely circulated video message, Rizvi directly addressed concerns circulating on social media and various unofficial platforms, affirming that there is no disruption to tourism, hospitality, or commercial activity across Thailand’s cities and tourist destinations.

He emphasized that Thailand’s internal environment continues to remain peaceful and welcoming, and all travel-related infrastructure, including airports, hotels, shopping districts, beaches, and cultural sites, are functioning as normal. There have been no travel advisories, airport closures, or tourist restrictions issued by the Thai government. Rizvi clarified that while the border areas near Cambodia had experienced isolated military movements earlier this year, those incidents were limited in scope, did not escalate into wider conflict, and have had no impact on Thailand’s tourism hubs such as Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Chiang Mai, and others.

The Thai government, he noted, has exercised restraint and has actively engaged in diplomacy to manage any temporary frictions along its eastern frontier. These efforts include adhering to international norms, upholding ceasefire agreements, and maintaining active communication with Cambodian authorities to de-escalate tensions. In the meantime, daily life across Thailand continues without interruption, and travelers from around the world especially those from South Asia are continuing to visit the country in large numbers for leisure, wellness, trade, education, and business engagements.

Rizvi took the opportunity to strongly caution the public against the spread of misinformation through viral social media posts and unverified news clips. He stressed that many of the images and videos being circulated online are either outdated, unrelated to the current situation, or taken completely out of context. These misleading visuals have contributed to unnecessary confusion and unwarranted fear among potential tourists. Rizvi urged citizens, travel agencies, and media personnel to rely only on verified information from official government portals, recognized travel advisories, and accredited news agencies when making or influencing travel decisions.

He also highlighted the deep-rooted cultural and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Thailand, noting that thousands of Pakistani travelers visit Thailand each year to enjoy its rich traditions, serene landscapes, culinary experiences, and vibrant markets. Thai citizens, likewise, have shown growing interest in visiting Pakistan, drawn by its historical Buddhist heritage, majestic mountain ranges, spiritual sites, and warm hospitality. This reciprocal flow of people has contributed to stronger bilateral ties, greater people-to-people contact, and a shared commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Rizvi added that the Thai tourism sector continues to offer competitive visa policies, attractive travel packages, and dedicated support for Pakistani visitors. From medical tourism in Bangkok’s hospitals to coastal relaxation in Phuket and spiritual retreats in Chiang Rai, Thailand remains one of the most trusted destinations for Pakistani travelers. He emphasized that all embassies, airlines, and tour operators continue to function normally and have received no restrictions or warnings concerning travel disruptions.

In closing, Yousaf Rizvi encouraged the public, especially frequent travelers, tour operators, and trade professionals, to continue their plans with confidence and optimism. He reaffirmed that Thailand remains a symbol of peace, tolerance, and hospitality in Southeast Asia, and that current border concerns are under control and geographically distant from tourist zones. With its consistent commitment to safety, transparent governance, and responsible foreign relations, Thailand continues to demonstrate its readiness to welcome the world without hesitation and without compromise on traveler experience.
