Naqvi Urges Asian Boards to Unite for Cricket’s Prosperity

DHAKA: Mohsin Naqvi, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), appealed to all member boards on Thursday to set aside any political disputes and collaborate to advance and reinforce cricket throughout Asia.

Addressing attendees at an event in Dhaka during the ACC annual gathering, Naqvi highlighted the importance of unity, asserting that the future success of Asian cricket relies on collaboration and shared support among its participants.

Naqvi stated, “For the advancement of cricket, we must operate as a cohesive unit. Political disagreements should not impede the sport’s development. We are a cricket family, and we must assist one another in order to achieve triumph.”

The ACC chairman emphasized that enhancing the competitive level of teams within the region is crucial for increasing the economic worth of Asian cricket.

“Stronger teams will produce superior matches, and superior matches will generate a more robust market. We need to investigate strategies to fortify the ACC and aid our associate members,” Naqvi commented.

Naqvi emphasized that the council’s initiatives should prioritize ensuring that all member boards cultivate competitive teams, which would pave the way for top-tier tournaments and greater business prospects.

He also conveyed his appreciation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for hosting the ACC meeting, recognizing their crucial role in the event’s successful execution.

He concluded, “This meeting’s realization hinged on the backing of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. I commend them on their adept organization and express gratitude to all board members who journeyed to Dhaka to partake. I am optimistic that we shall persist in our collaborative efforts for the enhancement of cricket.”
