Sri Lankan Equities Close Higher
Sri Lankan equities concluded Thursday’s trading session with gains, propelled by advances in the materials and industrials sectors.
The CSE All-Share index saw a rise of 0.46%, reaching a final mark of 15,615.63 points.
Ceylinco Holdings and Lanka Ashok Leyland emerged as the foremost contributors to the index’s gains, increasing by 50 points and 36 points, respectively.
The volume of shares traded on the index expanded to 54.75 million, up from the prior session’s 38.48 million.
Turnover in the equity market improved to 1.47 billion Sri Lankan rupees (equivalent to $4.90 million), compared to the previous session’s 1.1 billion Sri Lankan rupees, based on data from the exchange.
International investors exhibited net buying activity, acquiring stocks valued at 81.72 million rupees. In contrast, domestic investors were net sellers, divesting shares amounting to 1.42 billion rupees, as indicated by the data.
