Chevening Scholarships Open for Pakistani Professionals
The UK government has started accepting applications for the fully funded Chevening Scholarships, which provide a chance for Pakistani professionals in their mid-career to earn a one-year master’s degree from a leading British university.
According to a statement from the British High Commission in Islamabad, the Chevening Scholarships are available to professionals who possess a minimum of two years of work experience after graduation.
Applications will be considered from August 5 to October 7, 2025, and must be submitted via the online portal, the statement noted.
The scholarship encompasses all significant costs, such as academic fees, round-trip airfare to the UK, visa expenses, lodging, and a monthly living allowance.
Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, described Chevening as “a springboard for Pakistan’s outstanding future leaders,” and encouraged qualified individuals with a strong desire to lead and create change to apply.
Marriott stated, “Chevening provides more than just a first-rate education. It creates opportunities for personal development, facilitates global networking, and builds the self-assurance to lead purposefully.”
Candidates should use specific instances to illustrate their leadership, impact, and networking skills. The initiative also seeks to promote long-lasting ties between Pakistan and the UK by integrating scholars into British academic and cultural life.
Established in 1983, the Chevening Scholarship is supported financially by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) along with its partner organizations. The program boasts over 60,000 alumni from 160 countries globally, with over 2,000 coming from Pakistan. Many of these alumni now occupy key roles in government, business, and civil society.
