Pakistan U19 Volleyball Team Secures Victory Against Uzbekistan

Pakistan’s U19 volleyball team showcased their talent at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, defeating Uzbekistan 3-0 in their second Pool A match.

The Pakistani team dominated the match, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21, despite the support for the home team in Tashkent.

Captain Muhammad Yahya stood out, scoring 24 points, including 21 attacks. His calm demeanor and offensive skills were crucial for the team’s success. Saud contributed 10 points, while Muhtad Ali Shah and Ajmal Janid added 9 points each.

Pakistan outperformed Uzbekistan in attacks and blocks, achieving 45 attack points compared to Uzbekistan’s 28, and 12 block points against Uzbekistan’s 5.

While Uzbekistan had a slight lead in service points (3-2), Pakistan’s overall effectiveness and tactical approach were evident during the game.

Head Coach Saeed Ahmed Khan Sady praised the team’s maturity and focus during the intense match.

“Our team displayed great composure and assurance on the court. Defeating the home team with their crowd is challenging, but our players maintained their focus and followed the game plan effectively,” he stated. “This win enhances our spirit, but we have important matches coming up.”

Pakistan is scheduled to compete against Turkiye in the ongoing group stage, aiming to continue their winning record and improve their standing in the championship.

Chairman of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob, lauded the team’s exceptional performance. He stated:

“I send my best wishes to the entire team, coaches, and the country. Our youth teams are not only qualifying for global events but also displaying excellent performance. We are hopeful this will take us to the next stage.”
