Pakistan U18 Hockey Team Secures Semifinal Spot in Asia Cup

Pakistan’s U18 hockey team has advanced to the semi-finals of the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2025 after defeating China 2-1 at the Dazhou National Hockey Training Centre on Wednesday. This victory maintains Pakistan’s undefeated status in the tournament.

Pakistan initiated the match with early aggression, with Hassan Shahbaz scoring a field goal in the 11th minute.

Despite both teams receiving penalties in the second quarter, neither managed to score, keeping the score at 1-0 at halftime.

Hanzala Ali extended Pakistan’s advantage with another field goal in the third quarter. China responded swiftly as Jiaxing Lin converted a penalty corner in the same minute.

China attempted to level the score, but Pakistani goalkeeper Ghulam Mustafa prevented any further goals, securing a 2-1 victory for his team.

This win marks Pakistan’s fourth consecutive victory in the tournament, placing them at the top of Group A with 12 points, a goal difference of 21, having scored 25 goals and conceded only four.

Earlier in the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong 8-0 and Sri Lanka 9-0. Their third match saw them overcome Bangladesh with a score of 6-3.
