Saudi Arabia Announces New Low-Cost Airline

Saudi Arabia has revealed its plans to launch a new national budget airline, with operations expected to commence by 2030, according to reports from state media. The airline’s fleet will consist of 45 aircraft.

Air Arabia, the carrier from the United Arab Emirates, is part of a consortium of three entities that have secured the winning bid to manage the novel airline, as announced by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation.

The aviation authority also stated that the new airline will provide both domestic and international flight services to and from King Fahd International Airport located in Dammam.

State media outlets have reported that the airline intends to serve 24 destinations within Saudi Arabia and 57 international locations, aiming to transport 10 million passengers on an annual basis.
