Luis Diaz Eyes Bayern Munich Move Amidst Liverpool Interest

Luis Diaz, the Liverpool winger, reportedly hopes Bayern Munich will present an improved offer to secure his transfer this summer. International media sources suggest the Colombian international is keen on departing Anfield.

Reports indicate that Liverpool declined Bayern’s initial bid of €67.5 million for Diaz recently. However, the German club is supposedly preparing a new proposal of around €70 million, accompanied by potential add-ons, signifying their strong interest in the winger.

Since his arrival from Porto in January 2022, Diaz has become a crucial component of Liverpool’s squad. Last season marked Diaz’s most productive year with Liverpool, as he registered 17 goals across all competitions and played a significant role in their title-winning campaign, where they secured the top spot with a 10-point lead.

It is understood that Diaz initially favored a move to Barcelona, with the Catalan side also expressing interest in acquiring his services to strengthen their attack alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

However, sources claim that Liverpool rejected Barcelona’s offer of approximately £65 million for Diaz, leading them to explore alternative options.

While Liverpool are reluctant to sell the 28-year-old and are discouraging further offers, the club’s stance may soften as the summer transfer window progresses. There is over a month remaining until the window closes.

Despite having two years remaining on his contract, Liverpool are determined to keep Diaz. However, the player is reportedly keen on leaving, with other prominent clubs, including Manchester City and teams in the Saudi Pro League, also monitoring his situation.
