Kashmir Committee Chairman Urges UK to Address IIOJK Atrocities

LONDON: Rana Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, has appealed to the British government to emulate the stance of former US President Donald Trump and openly discuss the human rights abuses occurring in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In an interview with a media outlet, Rana Qasim Noon, who is leading a cross-party parliamentary delegation to the UK to bring attention to the Kashmir issue, expressed gratitude from Pakistanis, Kashmiris, and conscientious individuals globally for President Trump’s courageous position on Kashmir.

Rana Noon stated: “President Trump recognized Kashmir as an international matter, not an internal affair of India. The former US president acknowledged a long-standing reality, for which we are thankful. We hope for similar action from the UK leadership. While we appreciate the UK government’s expression of concern regarding the abuses in IIOJK, more needs to be done.”

Rana Noon conveyed that his delegation, which includes representatives from various parties, briefed UK parliamentarians on the situation in the occupied Muslim-majority region and accusations of widespread Kashmiri genocide by India.

He elaborated: “We informed the UK parliamentarians about how India initiated conflict with Pakistan under the false pretense of the Pahalgam attack. While this was an aggressive act, Pakistan responded responsibly, only retaliating when India continuously escalated the situation. Pakistan then acted to protect its sovereignty and prevent a larger conflict, now standing as a model for peacemaking. We commend Pakistan’s civil and military leadership for their responsible and courageous choices.”

He asserted that resolving the Kashmir dispute is essential for regional peace.

He claimed that the true face of the “terrorist” BJP is RSS and that Pakistan’s armed forces successfully countered India’s aggression.

He also alleged that India’s unilateral announcement to terminate the Indus Waters Treaty constitutes hydro terrorism against Pakistan. He emphasized that the Kashmir issue has never been a regional or bilateral matter and thanked the global community, especially President Trump, for backing the ceasefire.

The lawmaker added that India provides full support to terrorists and the Taliban government in Afghanistan, stating, “The entire world is now aware of this rogue state’s position.”
