Jordan Seeks 120,000 Tons of Milling Wheat in New Tender
HAMBURG: Jordan’s government grain purchaser has launched an international tender to acquire up to 120,000 metric tons of milling wheat, with origins at the seller’s option, according to European traders on Wednesday.
The deadline for submitting price quotations in this tender is April 29.
Market observers anticipated this announcement following Jordan’s purchase of 60,000 tons in a previous tender for 120,000 tons of wheat on Tuesday.
EU 2024/25 soft wheat exports are reportedly down by 34%.
The current tender specifies delivery in potential combinations of 50,000 to 60,000 ton lots during the periods of June 1-15, June 16-30, September 1-15, and September 16-30.
In prior tenders over recent weeks, Jordan secured a total of 120,000 tons for shipment in August, traders noted. A separate tender from Jordan for a maximum of 120,000 tons of animal feed barley also concludes on Wednesday.
