Pakistan Aims to Boost Exports to Bangladesh

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), has indicated that Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh possess the potential to increase to $3 billion within the next few years, up from the present figure of around $800 million. He also noted that the medium-term export potential could reach between $5 billion and $7 billion.

He represented the FPCCI at the DyeChem Bangladesh 2025 Expo, where he, along with Imran Haider, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Dhaka.

The High Commissioner expressed his commitment to supporting Pakistani exporters in their endeavors to expand into the Bangladeshi market, stressing the importance of securing a fair share in Bangladesh’s expanding economy.

The SVP of FPCCI emphasized Bangladesh’s significance as a major global hub for textiles and apparel, being a top garment exporter worldwide. This makes Bangladesh a vital export destination for Pakistani textile chemicals and dyestuffs. He added that the 48th DyeChem Bangladesh 2025 Expo offers a valuable opportunity to engage with a $47 billion textile and apparel sector that is showing consistent growth.

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon voiced his optimism regarding the establishment of the Pakistan Pavilion for the first time at this globally significant exhibition for textile chemicals. He clarified that DyeChem is the sole international exhibition in Bangladesh that covers all kinds of dyestuffs, fine chemicals, and specialty chemicals.

The 48th DyeChem Bangladesh 2025 Expo is poised to reinforce Bangladesh’s position as a leading destination in the international textile and chemical industries. It stands as the most prominent exhibition in Bangladesh with a focus on dyestuff, fine chemicals, and specialty chemicals for the textile and apparel sectors.

The event, part of the Textile Series of Exhibitions by CEMS-Global USA, acts as a key platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and industry experts. It promotes innovation, partnership, and progress within the dyestuff and chemical domains.

Magoon acknowledged the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan’s (TDAP) efforts and thanked Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, CEO of TDAP, for supporting Pakistan’s participation following a request from Atif Ikram Shaikh, President of FPCCI. He also recognized Haroon Ali Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA), for encouraging Pakistani chemical manufacturers to take part in the exhibition. Furthermore, he engaged in a constructive discussion with Marcelo Cesa, the Ambassador of Argentina to Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the expo.
