United States Set to Host FIFA Club World Cup for the First Time
Former United States President Donald Trump has confirmed his attendance at the FIFA Club World Cup final, scheduled for Sunday in New Jersey.
This announcement follows FIFA’s recent inauguration of a new office within Trump Tower in New York. The organization already maintains a Miami office, and this new location is expected to bolster FIFA’s ties with the U.S. administration.
The United States is the host nation for the inaugural edition of the expanded Club World Cup. Furthermore, the U.S. will jointly host the World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico next year.
Chelsea is slated to compete against either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final; those teams will face off in the second semi-final. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed gratitude for the government’s backing, including support from the former president and the White House task force, for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Infantino stated, “We are a global entity, and our presence must be worldwide.”
He also mentioned the substantial support received from the government and the former president, along with the White House task force, for both the FIFA Club World Cup and the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Infantino assured that all fans would be welcomed into the US, despite previous immigration restrictions.
