A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale, shook several areas including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The tremors caused widespread panic among residents in various localities.
The seismological center reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan, with its origin recorded at a depth of 114 kilometers.
Significant tremors were felt in major cities such as Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Swabi, along with their surrounding areas. Shocks were also experienced in Bajaur, Diamer city, and nearby regions.
Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to property. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation following the earthquake.
