Ronaldo Closing in on 1,000 Goal Milestone as UEFA President Praises Legend
Aleksander Ceferin, the president of UEFA, has recognized Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the three finest football players ever.
Ceferin was a featured speaker at the Portugal Football Summit, a summit that began on Wednesday and will conclude on October 11.
At the event, the UEFA president lauded Ronaldo as the foremost ambassador for Portuguese football and the nation itself.
Ceferin remarked, “He stands as one of the most significant promoters of both Portuguese football and the country. His competitive spirit is unmatched. It explains why it’s difficult for him to consider stopping.”
Ceferin noted that detailing Ronaldo’s career highlights would take hours and affirmed his place among the top three players in the sport’s history.
He stated, “His accomplishments are astounding, requiring over two hours to fully recount. Unquestionably, he ranks among the greatest players of all time, securing a spot in the top three.”
Ronaldo, a recipient of countless accolades, received the Globo Prestigio Award at the event, commemorating his 22 years representing Portugal internationally.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s trophy collection includes five Ballon d’Or awards, five UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Nations League titles, and one European Championship.
In 2023, Ronaldo became a member of the Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, where, at 40 years old, he remains a formidable force. He needs 54 more goals to reach the monumental 1,000-goal mark.
Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported that Cristiano Ronaldo achieved billionaire status in 2024, attributable to his profitable arrangement with Al-Nassr.
