Wicketkeeper Shaken But Unfazed After Accidental Hit During PSL 10 Match

MULTAN: During a dynamic PSL 10 face-off between the Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, an unusual event unfolded as fast bowler Ubaid Shah inadvertently struck wicketkeeper Usman Khan on the head during a celebratory moment.

The incident took place at Multan Cricket Stadium after Shah successfully dismissed Sam Billings of the Lahore Qalandars.

In his excitement following the vital wicket, Shah spun around and leaped in jubilation, accidentally hitting Khan—who was wearing a cap instead of a helmet—with his hand.

The impact briefly stunned the wicketkeeper. However, following a swift assessment by medical staff, he gave assurance to his teammates and resumed his role in the game.

The Sultans’ side quickly expressed their concern, but Khan immediately signaled his well-being with a thumbs-up. The moment quickly became a sensation on social media, with fans commending the intensity and enthusiasm displayed in PSL 10.

Despite the accident, Shah’s efforts played a crucial role in Multan’s triumph. The young bowler secured three wickets, which aided in restricting Lahore Qalandars to 195/9 as they pursued a significant 229-run target.

Lahore Qalandars started promisingly, with Fakhar Zaman (32 from 14 balls) and Abdullah Shafique (28 from 21 balls) building early momentum.

Nonetheless, consistent loss of wickets hindered their chase. Although Sam Billings (43 from 23 balls) and Sikandar Raza (50 from 27 balls) put up a strong fight, the increasing required run rate ultimately proved insurmountable.

With this victory, the Multan Sultans recorded their first win in PSL 10. Meanwhile, the Lahore Qalandars, who are currently third in the standings with two wins and two losses, will aim to recover in their upcoming match against Peshawar Zalmi on February 24 at Gaddafi Stadium.
